3 stars because staff was friendly , but the rooms were not clean . Restrooms were not clean either . Hospitals are to be kept clean because of patients who are prone to get diseases easily . I'm not exaggerating , we would have driven to Kingsport to a better hospital but that's an hour drive for us who live in the sticks .
That is now my go to hospital!! Although it came back a 3rd time where I had to be hospitalized, the Drs. & staff didn't give up, they kept me for 8 days that last time, but when I went home, I wasn't wheezing & the cough was about gone. They kept trying different treatments until they found the one that worked!!
I had a horrible cough, it had lasted for about 7 months. The Dr. I see kept treating it, but it would come back again & again. I was in town & the cough was worse so went to the ER. They did xrays, etc. & admitted me. I was there for 2 days. While in the hospital, I asked the maintenance person to clean the air vent over my bed & in my bathroom. *They never even came to look at them!. I didn't need to breath in dust! I also requested that housekeeping get rid of the cluster of gnats that were in the bathroom, they said that maintenance would have to do that, but could only use the chemicals after I left!! So for 2 days I had to deal with teeny tiny flies coming around me at every meal! They sent me home on Sunday with a prescription for a nebulizer & the medication to go in it. They never checked to make sure that my Medicare would cover the cost. *It didn't! One of the therapists told me she was going to get me an oxygen meter so I could check my O2 levels at home. *I never saw it. They did make sure that I had an Oxygen concentrator to take home. The company representative brought it to me in the hospital parking lot.
Awesome staff in all departments. They treat people with respect and great quality of care. In my opinion the best.
This place is a joke. Horrible staff, all of them have attitudes. Doctors don't know what they are doing. Don't even get me started on the nurses. I Hate this hospital and will never come back.
The following month it came back again, this time I went to Indian Path!
As an Australian R.N. I worked here in 2005. Very homely and caring.
